So about me...my name is Mienrado Acosta. I live in Northern New Jersey with my wife Maya, our little girl Olivia, and a big rescued dog named Cherub. Come november, baby Autumn will be joining us! Beyond any visual, the above mentioned are not only my biggest fans and critics, they are my inspiration. So much so, that Cherub landed his first glamour shot on packaging and Olivia charmed her way onto a website.
My professional career as a designer started in 2001 at a greeting card company. It wasn't quite the creative position I had hoped it would be, but as stray paths have a way of leading to desirable destinations, it provided me with invaluable experience. The position was very demanding technically, which inspired/demanded that I push myself to learn the necessary applications. As us creative minds know, we learn best when we're interested, so I picked up some books, tutorials, and began a serious exploration of every menu in the toolbar. This drive to learn and stay current has haunted me since and I strive to be in touch with the latest trends and techniques. During this time, I embarked on solo freelance projects which allowed more creative freedom and in turn strengthened my design sense.
With my experience in tote, I migrated to my next position at TRIMSPA as a senior designer. This position provided opportunities to further expand my design skills in advertising, packaging, displays, vehicle wraps, web graphics, photo retouching etc. These experiences collectively have been the stepping stones that have built the bridges and led me to my current place of creative bliss. You can now find me on the third floor of a way cool exposed brick building. I hold the title of Art Director for a work hard, play hard marketing agency that provides all angles of marketing, design, and development. If you knock on my office door and I don't answer, I'm probably home watching Noggin with Olivia or out walking with Cherub. No matter where I am, I'm being inspired...inspiration is always there, just gotta translate those moments into creative pieces.
Write me. I'll write back. Don't write Cherub.
He won't write back. He's just a dog.
